Please Note: This does not include the HD-SDI breakout box needed for 4K playback. It is also incompatible with the Red Dragon applications, these require the updated Red Rocket-X.
This Red Rocket x16 PCI card is used to significantly boost transcoding speeds for Mysterium and Mysterium-X R3D files. It also allows the user to playback raw R3D files in resolutions up to 4K (additional parts needed for 4K) which is typically not possible or wasn't during the time of release. It helps to drastically decrease transcoding times. This card can even be used with others of the same type but only in Windows machines, Macs do not support this so to take full advantage of these cards a Windows machine is preferable.
However even alone this is a capable card. Using DVI or HD-SDI playback can be transferred to an external monitor although this will require additional RED products and in this instance a breakout box. This card is not compatible with Red Dragon applications as the newer Red Rocket-X is required for those.
