This is a new internal battery for the MacBook Air 13" 2010-2015 models. This higher capacity 54.4Wh battery was only shipped with the 2013-2015 models, but is backwardly compatible with the 2010-2012 models.
Please Note:There are 2 revisions of this part along with multiple Apple part numbers. The 13" 2010-2012 models were shipped with a 7.3v/6700mAh/50Wh battery, referenced as A1377 and A1405. The 13" 2013-2015 models were shipped with a 7.6v/7150mAh/54.4Wh battery, referenced as A1496. These batteries are completely interchangeable but have different full charge capacities. They are referenced as such in the title.
