The iPad Air 3rd generation was originally released in 2019 as a replacement for the already discounted iPad Air 2. The iPad Air 3rd generation featured a six-core 2.5GHz Apple A12 Bionic SoC with an embedded M12 motion coprocessor equipped with 256KB of L1 cache (128KB instruction + 128KB data) and 8MB of L2 cache, 3GB of LPDDR4X memory and a quad-core Apple GPU. The iPad Air 3rd generation could be configured with 64GB or 256GB of flash storage, Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and Cellular connectivity and was available in Space Gray, Silver and Gold finishes.
The iPad Air 3rd generation featured a 10.5” LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch 2,224x1,668 (264 ppi) Retina display with support for the 1st generation Apple Pencil, Touch ID integrated into the home button, support for Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) networks, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G networks (region dependant), 3.5mm headphone jack, dual microphones, dual stereo speakers and lightning connector. The iPad Air 2 has two cameras a front 7mega-pixel FaceTime camera capable of 720p HD video recording and a rear 8-megapixel camera with support for 1080p HD video recording and slo-mo at 240fps. The iPad Air 3rd generation has a built-in 30.2Wh rechargeable lithium-polymer battery capable of up to 10 hours of battery life.
